Our Approach to Wellness and Recovery
At Encompassed Purpose, we utilize an Integrated Therapeutic Community model that effectively combines behavioral health treatment, addiction recovery, mental health support, structured living, peer accountability, recovery coaching, life skills development, vocational support, and faith- and values-based growth.
This holistic approach recognizes that real life does not happen in separate categories, and neither does the journey of recovery. Over the years, I've come to understand a crucial truth.
People don’t just need treatment; they need practical tools for their journey. I’ve heard countless struggles and witnessed the challenges firsthand. I've seen individuals longing for change yet feeling lost on how to initiate it. Many leave treatment inspired but uncertain about how to navigate the complexities of everyday life.
We provide essential tools to change thinking patterns, foster emotional resilience, promote personal growth, support recovery, and discover life’s purpose.
Transformation doesn’t occur by chance; it requires both knowledge and action.
Our mission is straightforward: to help individuals heal and families recover. Because we firmly believe recovery and transformation are attainable.
I've witnessed remarkable transformations—people rebuilding their lives and families reuniting. I’ve seen individuals who once thought they had no future step into leadership roles, guiding others towards their own paths of recovery.
That’s the essence of Encompassed Purpose. It’s not merely about changing behavior; it’s about empowering individuals to transform their lives.
My name is Justin. For the last 20 years, I have been on supervision, committing crimes, using drugs, and repeatedly getting myself into trouble. One year ago, I made the decision to willingly enter Encompassed Purpose, and that decision has changed my life.
Since entering the program, I have learned an entirely different perspective on my problems and behaviors. One of the biggest things I have realized is that I have a thinking problem. I have learned that the way I think directly affects the decisions I make, the behaviors I engage in, and the direction of my life.
The structured living environment and the classes I receive through this program have helped me change my life dramatically. I have gained meaningful employment, learned responsibility, developed structure, and learned how to handle the normal day-to-day responsibilities that come with living a productive and meaningful life.
This program has also taught me a great deal about myself and the issues that have contributed to my past behaviors. Throughout my struggles, I have participated in several treatments, patient programs, and rehabilitation centers. However, the program I am currently a part of is, by far, the best program I have ever been involved in. At 45 years old, I am gaining more knowledge and understanding about myself and what is really going on in my life than I ever have before.
The curriculum taught by Dr. Berg has been amazing. It has helped me understand my thinking, my behaviors, and the changes I need to make in order to live differently. The program does not simply tell me that I need to change; it gives me practical tools, structure, education, and guidance to help me actually make those changes.
I can honestly say that if I were not in this program, I believe I would probably be in an institution somewhere, continuing the same behaviors I have displayed throughout the last 20 years. Encompassed Purpose has helped me see that change has to come from within the individual, but people also need to be given the right tools, education, structure, and support to be successful.
That is what I have received at Encompassed Purpose, and I continue to receive it every day.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this program and for everyone who has invested their time and effort into helping me become a better and more productive person. I am learning how to live a normal, responsible, and meaningful life, and for the first time in many years, I can see a different future for myself.
A big thank you to everyone involved with Encompassed Purpose and Pavilion Place for everything you have done and continue to do for me.
Sincerely,
Justin

I have been in Encompassed Purpose for almost three months, and my experience has been great. The amount of support from Brad, Kim, President Kody, and every guy here has been amazing. Everyone has been very supportive and encouraging.
Personally, I have been an open book throughout my time in the program. Brad takes the time to personalize my treatment plan and address the issues and concerns that I bring to him. Through this process, I have gained a lot of insight into my emotions and have been relearning my thought patterns. I believe I have gained emotional maturity and strength, even though I am still learning how to process and work through these things.
I am very grateful for everyone's support. This program has been one of the best decisions I have made—not only because it has helped me stay clean for a period of time, but because I have learned new tools and been taught how to recognize and change my destructive thought patterns.
This has been an amazing program for me so far, and I am excited about the months of eye-opening learning that are still ahead of me. I cannot express my gratitude to Brad and Kim enough for everything they have done to support me.
In conclusion, for me personally, this is an amazing program that has already taught me a lot about myself. Being a faith-based program has also helped me grow closer to God and learn to accept Him in all aspects of my life.
I wholeheartedly believe that Encompassed Purpose is dedicated to getting to know each individual and personalizing each person's treatment plan to best fit their individual needs.

My life has changed incredibly since I came to Encompassed Purpose. When I first arrived, I knew very little about life beyond barely getting by, finding my next fix, and not caring about much of anything.
Since coming to Encompassed Purpose, I have been taught coping skills and many other tools that have helped me change the way I live. The program offers so much to its participants, and the staff genuinely care about us and our success.
They helped me get a job on my first day here. I worked at that job for approximately six months, and then Kim and Brad helped me get an opportunity to work where I am employed now. I build boat docks, and I have been able to more than double my pay. They have taught me responsibility, how to talk about my emotions, how to hold myself and my peers accountable, and, most importantly, how to love myself, others, my family, and God.
Without Encompassed Purpose, I believe I would either be dead, incarcerated, or continuing the same lifestyle I had lived since I was 13 years old. I first used a needle when I was 13, and I continued using drugs every day until February 10, 2025.
Brad and Kim have provided the greatest support and structure I have ever had in my life. I have now been here for approximately a year and seven months, and I currently serve as the House President. I honestly cannot imagine what my life would look like today without Encompassed Purpose.
Through this program, I have rebuilt my relationship with my mother and my family. I have also learned how to address the trauma that contributed to my substance use. I experienced significant trauma growing up, and I used drugs because I believed they were an escape from having to deal with what I had experienced.
My trauma affected nearly every part of my life. I struggled to sleep and eat, and when I did eat, I would sometimes have nightmares and become physically sick. Through the work I have done in this program, I have learned how to process and cope with my past instead of allowing it to control my life.
Today, I am a recovering child of God, and I am determined not to allow drugs to take my life away again. I have a completely different outlook on my future, and I want to help other people who have been where I have been or who are currently struggling with addiction.
I would do anything I can to help someone else find the hope, tools, structure, and support that I have found here.
The changes in my life have been possible because of the help and support I have received through Encompassed Purpose. I am grateful for everything this program and its staff have done for me and for the person I am becoming.
If anyone has questions about what happens at Encompassed Purpose or what the program is like from a participant's perspective, I am more than willing to speak with them and share my experience.

I am very blessed to say that Encompassed Purpose / Pavilion Place is an awesome program.
When I was homeless, I was in a very difficult place in my life. I was struggling emotionally and experiencing suicidal thoughts. I was reaching out to as many sober living programs as I could, but I was turned down by all of them. Then Encompassed Purpose reached out to me, and Brad and Kim were willing to give me a chance.
That gave me hope again. I felt like it was a calling from God and that He had finally answered my prayers.
I have been at Encompassed Purpose since July 14, 2026, and I am proud to say that I have been sober since June 10, 2026. Since coming here, I have experienced major breakthroughs in my life. I attend as many classes as I can because I know that the things I am learning are helping me grow and build a better future.
We attend Celebrate Recovery every Tuesday, and we also attend church every Sunday. My faith has become an important part of my recovery and my life.
I was able to get a job the week after I arrived, and I can honestly say that I love my job. I have never been able to say that before. I work at Optic Armor, where I help manufacture bulletproof windshields as well as Bobcat and Kubota windshields. It is a very interesting job, and I really enjoy the work.
All in all, I can honestly say that if it were not for this place and this program, I have no idea where I would be right now. I believe I could have relapsed and possibly ended up back in jail or facing something even worse.
I am truly blessed and grateful to be here. Encompassed Purpose has given me an opportunity to build a new life centered around sobriety, responsibility, faith, meaningful employment, and better mental and emotional well-being.
I am excited about my future and the new life I am building through recovery.
Thank you to everyone at Encompassed Purpose / Pavilion Place for giving me a chance and helping me believe that my life can be different.
Sincerely,
Dillon

My name is Steve and I want to share my testimony regarding my experience at Encompassed Purpose and the impact the program has had on my life.
I am not currently on probation or parole, although I am currently on bond probation. I am sharing my experience because I want others to understand how successful this program has been for me and how much it has helped me change my life.
I recently completed the program after spending a full year at Encompassed Purpose. I entered the program after bonding out of jail following eight months of incarceration. At that point, I had almost nothing to my name. I did not have a driver's license or even a birth certificate, which made it extremely difficult to begin rebuilding my life.
I had lost my business, my vehicle, my home, and my ability to support myself. I had very little idea how I was going to move forward, especially because I could not obtain consistent employment without proper identification. At the same time, bills were already piling up. I had payments to my bondsman, GPS monitoring expenses, and the cost of mandatory UAs three times a week.
Encompassed Purpose took me in because I was serious about finally overcoming my alcohol and substance addiction and learning a new way of life. At the beginning, I had very little hope that things would actually turn around. However, I made a promise to myself and to the people at the program that I would give it everything I had.
The first month was extremely difficult for me mentally. I was under tremendous stress and was working very little while trying to obtain identification and find consistent employment. Once I received my ID, I began looking for work, and eventually an opportunity came.
The program helped me with transportation so that I could get to work and continue moving forward. As time went on, my GPS monitoring requirement ended, I was able to begin paying down my balance at OCCS, and I started finding ways to become financially stable. Even while I was still struggling mentally, the staff remained patient with me. They took the time to talk with me about what I wanted for my life and how I could realistically reach those goals.
We began setting small goals each week. Some of my biggest goals were obtaining my driver's license, finding a better job, getting a vehicle, and eventually having my own place. At the time, those goals seemed almost impossible.
But one goal at a time, things began to change.
I was able to obtain my driver's license. About a month later, I was able to get a vehicle. Having reliable transportation opened up opportunities and allowed me to begin catching up on my responsibilities.
I used my newfound transportation to work a second job and catch up on several bills. The program supported me in working while continuing to attend meetings and participate in the program. Those meetings were extremely helpful in changing my mindset and teaching me how to approach situations differently.
The program also helped me come out of my shell again. I began rebuilding trust in other people and, more importantly, began focusing on the person I wanted to become.
Things continued to improve.
In November, I entered my first healthy relationship. I honestly doubt I could have maintained that relationship without the tools and understanding I gained through the program. I learned how to communicate differently, think differently, and approach relationships from a healthier perspective.
I was also able to shift my focus toward a better career opportunity. I obtained a job with benefits and very good pay. The staff continued to encourage me and helped me stay focused and committed until I completed my year in the program.
By the time I completed the program, I had accomplished something that had once seemed almost impossible: I was able to obtain my own place to live.
I am not only in a completely different place financially and personally, but I have also developed a desire to help other people. I am now motivated to pursue courses and training to become a peer counselor through the State of Missouri so that I can use my experience to help others who are facing some of the same struggles I faced.
I am a far different man than the person who walked through the doors of Encompassed Purpose a year ago.
Much of what I have today, and much of what I have learned once seemed completely out of reach. The program helped me learn how to set realistic goals, take responsibility for my choices, change my thinking, develop healthier relationships, work toward financial independence, and become a productive member of society.
I cannot express enough how positive an impact Encompassed Purpose has had on my life. The program did not simply help me remain clean and sober; it helped me learn how to build a life worth staying clean and sober for.
I sincerely hope that other people who are struggling are given the same opportunity I was given. Sometimes a person does not need someone to simply tell them what they are doing wrong. They need someone willing to walk alongside them, help them establish realistic goals, teach them new tools, and believe that change is possible.
Encompassed Purpose did that for me.
I am grateful for the opportunity I was given and for the people who continued to support me throughout the year. I sincerely hope others are given the same chance to rebuild their lives.
Thank you,
Steve
